Housing
is pre-arranged through the housing office in Angers.
There is a very limited number of rooms available in
residence halls, but only for students enrolling for
a full academic year. Other students are placed in
homestays (a room rented in a house, not necessarily a
"family stay"). Because of the very large number of
students in Angers the actual homestay situation varies
widely from one house to the next: from the location of
the house (from downtown to the suburb) and the size of
the room, to the services offered (some family offer
meal plans - most do not -, some offer laundry access -
most do not -, and so on). The approximate cost of
housing goes from 190 €
to 260 €
per month. There is usually a one-month guarantee
deposit (refundable), and most landlords require renters
to show proof of homeowner - or should we say home
renter - insurance (which can be purchased in Angers). |
